I would recommend at least 3 years experience. Apart of that experience must be weddings, not just parties as a wedding DJ is probably the most skilled DJ to hire. This is because he can read the crowd and adapt to all kinds of situations and please a variety of different musical interests. The more experience the DJ, the better. Also consider their expertise in different music genres, ability to mix tracks seamlessly, and knowledge of various DJ equipment.
Is the DJ adaptable? Discuss the DJ's music selection process and how they adapt to different audiences and events. A good DJ should be versatile and able to read the crowd to play the right songs at the right time, catering to different tastes and preferences.
